Problem

As COVID-19 spread and people sheltered in place, access to certain goods and services became limited, leaving vulnerable populations across the globe at risk.

Solution

We saw people turn to Facebook to connect with and take action to help their communities. We also knew that often the people who are in the best position to help are those physically closest. So we built "Community Help", a place where people can request or offer help to their neighbors, donate to fundraisers for relief efforts, donate blood to local blood banks, and more.

Check out the Community Help product.

Outcome

Community Help has launched to 60+ countries where we've seen people use it for everything from delivering groceries to elderly neighbors to volunteering to distribute food through local food banks (See Sheryl's post). It was also the centerpiece of the first ever Facebook Inc. marketing campaign and short film "Never Lost" (See Zuck's post).
